SUMMARY:Charity Coffee Morning
DESCRIPTION:Total Raised for the Gemma Potts Community: £380 💜 \nOn Saturday\, 8th June\, (10am-12pm) the Blackhill and Shotley Bridge Uniting Methodist Church will be hosting a charity coffee morning for the Gemma Potts Community at Blackhill Community Centre. \nEvery second Saturday of the month\, community charity coffee mornings are held at the Blackhill Community Centre (10am-12pm) to support local and national charities. Val Pears\, who taught Gemma at Burnhope Primary School\, reached out to dedicate one of these mornings to Gemma’s cause. The news of Gemma’s injury deeply affected Val\, and she was determined to help. \nWe are incredibly grateful to Val Pears\, the volunteer team\, and the local community for their kindness and support.

SUMMARY:Satley Speed Shear
DESCRIPTION:Total Raised for the Gemma Potts Community: £261 \nThe Satley Speed Shear\, organised by Mark Robson of Robson Animal Health\, taking place on 27th July at 6 PM at West Shields Farm\, DL13 4HN. This event is part of the Northern Speed Shear Circuit and will see shearers competing to be the fastest on the night. \nWhile the event raises funds for the Sir Bobby Robson Cancer Foundation and the Sick Children’s Trust\, the Gemma Potts Community has been kindly invited to participate and raise awareness and funds for Gemma. \nEarlier this year\, Mark Robson completed an incredible 101-mile walk from Siddick to Tynemouth in under 48 hours\, raising over £5\,000 for the Gemma Potts Community. Now\, he hopes to continue his fundraising efforts during the Satley Speed Shear. Mark will be auctioning off GPC merchandise\, including 2 hoodies\, 2 bobble hats\, and 2 caps\, and will share some heartfelt words about Gemma and her journey. \nRebecca Bradley\, from the Gemma Potts Community\, will be the duty vet on the night and will have her GPC donation bucket ready for those who wish to contribute to Gemma’s cause. \nThe event is open to everyone\, so please come along and enjoy an evening of sheep shearing and fundraising. Let’s support Mark and the Gemma Potts Community together!

SUMMARY:Great North Run 2024
DESCRIPTION:Total Raised for the Gemma Potts Community: £1\,000+ \n\nOn September 8th\, Brad Close will be taking on the challenge of running the world’s biggest and most iconic half marathon\, the Great North Run. He’s chosen to support not one but two causes in his endeavour\, the Gemma Potts Community and the British Heart Foundation.\n\n\n\nBrad reached out to Gemma and her family a few weeks ago to ask if he could run on behalf of the Gemma Potts Community. He had signed up to the Great North Run via the British Heart Foundation and exceeded his fundraising target of £300\, but with the race still weeks away\, he knew there was still time to make a greater impact. Gemma’s story has resonated deeply with him over the last couple years and he felt like this was the perfect opportunity to help support her journey and raise awareness. He has chosen to dedicate the first half of this 13.1 mile race to the British Heart Foundation and he will then change into his Gemma Potts Community t-shirt for the remainder of the run. We wish him the best of luck for this challenge and hope he has a fantastic time at the Great North Run.\n\nWe’d like to take the opportunity to thank Brad\, his family and his friends for their support and generous donations. Every single donation brings Gemma closer to her goal of attending STEPS rehabilitation centre.
